KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 15 — The Serdang Hospital is in the process of strengthening the overall structure of its ceiling in stages, according to Health Ministry secretary-general Datuk Farida Mohd Ali.
In a statement today, she said the ceiling reinforcement work at Level 2 was currently supervised by the public works department.
Early yesterday, several pieces of the ceiling in the recovery room of the neonatal care ward collapsed. However, no injury was reported in the incident.
The RM690 million hospital which began operations in December 2005, was built specifically to cater to about 570,000 residents of Serdang, Putrajaya, Kajang and Bangi. — Bernama
