IPOH, Nov 15 — A Nasi Kandar Ayam Merah Restaurant manager at Jalan Yang Kalsom here has denied the claim in a social website that his premises was ordered to close yesterday because the Kinta district health office found traces of faeces in the food.

Mohd Nihmatullah Syed Mustaffah, 59, said his restaurant was ordered to close for two weeks because it failed to meet the required cleanliness standard, and not as claimed.

He described the statement in the social website as erroneous and slanderous and could adversely affect his business.

“I challenge the parties who made the claim to back it up with evidence. If there is proof, I will admit it. I am not blaming the health department. They were only carrying out their duties to make us aware of our responsibilities to customers,” he told reporters when met at the premises today.

According to him, the claim could even harm Perak’s reputation as a popular nasi kandar destination for local visitors and tourists from Singapore, Australia and Thailand. — Bernama
