KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 9 — Photography enthusiasts have been urged to play their part in the 2014 Visit Malaysia Year by taking unique pictures depicting the beautiful panorama of the country and its society.

Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz said the beauty of buildings, green forests and the friendliness of Malaysians could be better showcased via photography.

He said photography enjoyed a wide following worldwide and was the best medium to promote the 2014 Visit Malaysia Year.

“Photography can become an attraction to foreign tourists in introducing the cultures and lifestyle of our multi-community society,” he said when opening a ‘Lensa Meletup’ Competition at the National Visual Art Gallery here today.

On the contest, Nazri hoped it could be continued next year by also involving the participation of foreign photographers. — Bernama
