PORT DICKSON, Nov 8 — The development plan for Felda’s affordable homes in the area where its headquarters, Wisma Felda, is located in Jalan Semarak, Kuala Lumpur is now in its final stage, said Felda chairman Tan Sri Mohd Isa Abdul Samad.

“However, we are in the midst of making several proposals and the layout plan for the houses for children of Felda settlers on the land measuring 8.1 hectares (20 acres),” he told reporters after launching the programme ‘1Family 1Malaysia’ organised by the Women and Family Development Council for the Telok Kermang Parliamentary constituency, here today.

Felda plans to build at least 3,000 units of affordable homes in the area.

Priority will be given to Felda settlers’ children working in the federal capital for 1,500 units of the houses while the other half will be sold to those who are eligible. The price for the houses will be determined by the government.

Mohd Isa said the project was expected to commence early next year.

He said the area would be developed in several phases. — Bernama
