SHAH ALAM, Oct 18 — A warehouse manager was charged in the Sessions Court here today of criminal breach of trust involving RM382,282, earlier this year.

S. Mugilan, 39 from Taman Sentosa, Klang, however, pleaded not guilty and claimed trial after the charge was read to him before Judge G.Ramesh.

Mugilan, a warehouse manager at Megalift Sdn Bhd, is alleged to have committed the offence by selling the company's used and new tyres worth RM382,282 without his employer's knowledge.

The offence was allegedly committed at the company premises at Jalan Hishamuddin 1, Kawasan 20 Selat Klang Utara, Port Klang near here between February and August 31, this year.

He was charged under Section 409 of the Penal Code which carries a maximum jail term of 20 years and whipping or fine, if convicted.

Deputy public prosecutor Mohd Raimi Mohd Ramli, who prosecuted, did not offer bail, saying that it was a non-bailable offence, but lawyer Tan Choon Hong who represented Mugilan, requested for his client to be allowed bail as he was the breadwinner of the family and had to support his unemployed wife and their 11-year-old child.

Judge G.Ramesh allowed Mugilan to be released on a bail of RM12,000 in one surety and set November 18 for mention. — Bernama
