SINGAPORE, Oct 18 — Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong described bilateral relations between Malaysia and Singapore as being at an all-time high now, said Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Ali Hamsa.
“He feels the relationship between Malaysia and Singapore is indeed at an all-time high now,” said Ali when met at the VIP complex at Changi International Airport, today.
Ali paid a courtesy call on Lee this morning, in his first official visit to the republic as Chief Secretary, starting yesterday.
Lee also met Public Service director-general Tan Sri Mohamad Zabidi Zainal and the Malaysian High Commissioner to Singapore Datuk Husni Zai Yaacob.
Elaborating on his meeting with Lee, Ali said: “The atmosphere surrounding the talks seemed merry and harmonious, and he (Lee) was happy with relations between Malaysia and Singapore.
“(His Excellency) Lee discussed several matters with me and my delegation, including on the uniqueness of our civil service and the Blue Ocean strategy.
“He (Lee) has sent his greetings to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak. Lee is expecting to meet with his counterpart (Najib) at the Leaders’ Retreat to be held in Malaysia next year,” he said.
Ali said he also met Singapore Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Home Affairs, Coordinating Minister for National Security and Minister in charge of the Civil Service, Teo Chee Hean. — Bernama
