KUALA KRAI, Oct 11 — A standard six pupil of Sekolah Kebangsaan Bedal died of strangulation in a freak accident while attempting to set a chicken trap with computer cables, here today.
Kuala Krai acting police chief DSP Nuruddin Wahab said 12-year-old Muhamad Idham Yusuf, the 11th of 12 siblings, was found hanging from the beam of their kitchen roof by his sister at 9.15am.
“We have classified the case as sudden death,” he said when contacted.
Meanwhile, met at her home in Kampung Bedal, the victim’s sister Nor Amira Idayu, 15, said Muhamad Idham had recently learned the new technique and had wanted to try it out.
His mother, Siah Che Soh, 57, said that at the time of the tragedy she and her husband Yusuf Mamat, 62, were tapping rubber trees at their plantation about five kilometres away. — Bernama
