LABUAN, Oct 9 — After he gambled away RM4,000 belonging to his family, a local man lodged a police report, claiming he was robbed.
Labuan police chief, Supt Adzhar Othman said the police investigation, however, found the man was lying and remanded him.
He said the man who worked at a hotel claimed that he was robbed and his Samsung Galaxy cellphone taken away after he was tied up by a group of men on October 4.
“The man is now being investigated under Section 182 of the Penal Code for making a false police report,” said Adzhar. — Bernama
