KUALA KLAWANG (JELEBU), Sept 20 — A row of 11 shophouses were destroyed in a fire in Jalan Besar, Pekan Titi near here, last night.
Among the shops destroyed were a restaurant, sundry shops and a clinic.
However, no casualties were reported.
Operations commander Nizam Abdul Rahim, who is also the Head of the Jelebu Fire and Rescue Station, said the station received a call at 7.09pm and the first engine arrived at the scene at 7.20pm.
He said three engines together with 18 firemen from the Jelebu, Simpang Pertang and Seremban Fire Stations were rushed to the scene to control the fire.
Twenty volunteer firemen from Titi and Petaling also helped in putting out the fire. — Bernama
