PUTRAJAYA, Sept 9 — Civil servants and Malaysians in general have been urged to cooperate in preserving and protecting the country’s peace and prosperity from internal and external threats.
Deputy Minister of Technology, Science and Innovation, Datuk Abu Bakar Mohamad Diah said they should nurture patriotic values and feelings of love for the country.
“Civil servants and other Malaysians should boost 56th Merdeka Month and 50th Malaysia Day celebrations,” he said at an event to boost 56th Merdeka Day and 50th Malaysia Day celebration at Dataran Kompleks C, here today.
Also present was the Director General of the Public Service Department (PSD) Tan Sri Mohamad Zabidi Zainal.
More than 500 civil servants from the ministry and the PSD joined the morning programme to sing Negaraku, pledge Rukunegara and sing patriotic songs.
Mohamad Zabidi said the participation of civil servants from various government departments and agencies proved that patriotism and appreciation of independence exist among civil servants and should be continued.
“The theme of this year’s Merdeka Day, ‘Malaysiaku Berdaulat: Tanah Tumpahnya Darahku’ is unity in nature and oriented towards patriotism to remind the people the importance of defending the country together and nurture feelings of love for the country.” — Bernama
