KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2 — Three students of a private college in Bandar Sunway died while a lecturer was seriously injured when the vehicle they were travelling in was involved in an accident at the Bukit Jalil Highway towards Puchong, here, yesterday.

Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department assistant director, Azizan Ismail said in the 6.30pm incident, a Proton Wira car driven by the lecturer was believed to have skidded before crashing into two trees on the highway divider and entered the opposite side of the road to collide with a Toyota Estima.

He said the three dead students were identified as Mohd Nasharuddin, 20, Hafizuddin Nazri, 18, and Zul Zyrean Zaharudin, 18, while the lecturer who was now in the Intensive Care Unit of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Hospital (HUKM) was identified as Hairiee Mohamad Ali in his 20’s.

“We received the information at 6.48pm and arrived at the scene with two fire engines and 11 personnel 10 minutes later.

“They managed to extricate all victims trapped in the vehicle by about 8.30pm,” he told Bernama.

Azizan said from the initial investigation, the four victims were believed to be from the Race Course roundabout heading towards Bandar Sunway after returning from Speed City in Seri Kembangan.

The bodies of the three victims were sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital. — Bernama
