PUTRAJAYA, Aug 20 — PAS today handed over a memorandum urging Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak to hold a special session of Parliament on the crisis in Egypt.

The memorandum was handed over by PAS vice-president Salahuddin Ayub at the Prime Minister’s Office here this morning.

Salahudin said that through the special session, it was hoped that Malaysia could adopt a motion that not only criticised what was happening there but also took appropriate action.

He hoped the prime minister would set up a joint action committee where the motion adopted would not be based on political party ideology.

“Like the previous motions for Syria, Palestine, we support what is being done by Malaysia,” he told reporters. – Bernama
