TAWAU, Aug 18 — Three men were killed when the car they were travelling in collided with a lorry at Kilometre 40 Jalan Semporna- Kunak here today.
Those killed were identified as the car driver, Amran Juma, 47, and passengers Julham Amil, 26, and Ajun Ibrahim, 35. All died on the spot.
The lorry driver, however, escaped unhurt.
Semporna Fire and Rescue station head, Assistant Superintendent Mohd Razali Awang Ahmad, when contacted by Bernama, said 10 firemen in two engines, from Semporna and Kunak stations, were despatched to the scene after the station was informed of the crash at 5.28pm.
The firemen arrived at the scene about 6pm and took about an hour to remove the victims from the wrecked car, he added.
Attempts by Bernama to contact the Semporna District Police Chief for more information on the mishap went unheeded. — Bernama
