KUALA LUMPUR, July 25 — Barisan Nasional (BN) chairman Datuk Seri Najib Razak today expressed his gratitude to the voters for the BN victory in the by-election for the Kuala Besut state seat yesterday.
In his latest posting in the social website Facebook and his Twitter account, the prime minister also thanked the party machinery and everyone who had contributed to the party in retaining the seat.
“Congratulations for the victory of our party, Barisan Nasional and Ku Zaihan (Tengku Zaihan Che Ku Abd Rahman) in Kuala Besut.
“I take this opportunity to thank the voters for again placing their trust in the Barisan Nasional to continue to lead in Kuala Besut,” he said.
Meanwhile on Twitter, Najib also wished Tengku Zaihan well in serving the rakyat.
Tengku Zaihan, who garnered 8,288 votes, defeated PAS candidate Azlan Yusof by a 2,592-vote majority. — Bernama
