PETALING JAYA, July 9 ― PAS has put Datuk Husam Musa in charge of its campaign for the Kuala Besut by-election, according to party organ Harakah Daily.
The Islamist party’s vice-president will be aided by PAS election director Dr Hatta Ramli and Terengganu PAS deputy commissioner Satiful Bahri Mamat, and advised by party president Datuk Seri Hadi Awang and his deputy Mohamad Sabu.
The party is due to announce its candidate later today, as is Barisan Nasional.
On Friday, the EC had set nominations for the Kuala Besut by-election for July 12 and polling for July 24.
The by-election was called following the death of BN’s Dr A. Rahman Mokhtar on June 26 from lung cancer.
In Election 2013, Dr Rahman had defeated PAS’s Napisah Ismail with a comfortable 2,434-vote majority.
