KUALA LUMPUR, July 9 — The final report on the study of the high-speed rail (HSR) project between Malaysia and Singapore is expected to be completed by the end of this month, said Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Nancy Shukri.

She said the study includes a detailed assessment on the technical and engineering aspects, cost, financial and operations as well as economic benefit.

“The study is done and the report is in its final stage of preparation. We expect the final report to be ready by end of July,” she said in reply to a question from Teresa Kok (DAP-Seputeh) in the Dewan Rakyat today.

Kok wanted to know the status of the project and whether it would be awarded through open tender.

According to Nancy, the corridor identified for the project will pass through the Klang Valley, Negri Sembilan, Malacca and Johor.

On the selection for project tender, she said the government will consider the best mechanism according to existing procedure and guidelines. — Bernama
