PETALING JAYA, Sept 10 — BAC Education Group and ZICO Trust (M) Berhad today signed a memorandum of understanding to provide scholarships to 10 students from B40 households pursuing degrees in law, accounting and finance, and business administration.

Under the three-year scholarship programme, ZICO Trust will cover tuition fees worth more than RM160,000 annually for the 10 recipients.

Six students will pursue Bachelor of Laws degrees under the University of London International Programme through BAC in Malaysia, while two will take Bachelor of Accounting and Finance degrees at Veritas University College.

The remaining two will pursue Bachelor of Business Administration degrees through Veritas University College’s open and distance learning programme.

The scholarship is open to students from B40 households who demonstrate strong academic performance and maintain good disciplinary standing throughout their programmes.

Recipients will also be required to serve a one-year employment bond with ZICO Trust Malaysia after graduation, with additional eligibility criteria and terms applying.

ZICO Trust chairman Tan Sri Datuk Seri Dr Mazlan Lazim said financial circumstances should not prevent deserving students from pursuing higher education.

This partnership with BAC Education Group allows us to provide meaningful support to promising students, helping them find their foothold in Malaysia’s professional landscape. With greater financial certainty throughout their studies and professional internship and career development opportunities at ZICO Trust Malaysia upon graduation, we hope these young people will have stronger confidence in pursuing ambitions, building meaningful careers and ultimately giving back to their communities,” he said.

The MOU was signed by Raja Singham and Mazlan, witnessed by Veritas University College chief executive Prof Dr Amer Hamzah Jantan and ZICO Trust executive director Chew Seng Kok.

The collaboration aims to widen access to higher education while providing scholarship recipients with opportunities to develop professional skills and pursue careers after graduation.
