KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 13 — Maxim Malaysia is widening its small business assistance programme nationwide, offering free equipment and hygiene-focused support to help local entrepreneurs improve their operations and create cleaner, more organised public spaces.

The initiative, first introduced alongside Maxim’s rollout in more than 50 cities, has since grown to include hundreds of restaurants, hotels, service providers, educational institutions and market vendors across the country.

Participation is free and open to businesses of all sizes.

Under the programme, Maxim works directly with entrepreneurs to understand their operational needs before providing practical equipment such as branded aprons, market umbrellas, “Open/Closed” signs, floor-standing and wall-mounted signage, and other materials that enhance business visibility and day-to-day efficiency.

A key focus of the initiative is raising hygiene standards in busy public areas such as markets and food courts.

By supplying them aprons and essential tools, Maxim aims to help vendors maintain cleanliness during food preparation and sales, reduce contamination risks and strengthen consumer confidence — while easing the financial burden of purchasing these items independently.

“Small entrepreneurs are the backbone of Malaysia’s local economy. Through this initiative, we hope to provide meaningful support that helps businesses operate more efficiently while improving their visibility within the community,” said Mohd Hazwan Musley, Director of Maxim Malaysia.

“Whether it is a roadside warung, a family-owned restaurant or a neighbourhood café, we believe every entrepreneur deserves the opportunity to grow.”

One beneficiary, food vendor Salleh Bakhri, said the assistance has made a noticeable difference to his stall’s presentation and customer experience.

“Maxim Malaysia provided us with a new menu book, business signboard and banner, which have made our stall look more organised and professional.

“Customers can now easily identify our business and browse our menu comfortably.”

Beyond its business support programme, Maxim continues to work with government agencies, educational institutions, healthcare organisations and community groups nationwide on long-term social initiatives aimed at improving quality of life, strengthening local economies and supporting sustainable community development.
