KUALA LUMPUR, July 21 — Tetra Pak Malaysia is promoting a combination of product development, co-packing and automated manufacturing solutions to help food and beverage businesses bring new products to market more quickly and with lower upfront costs.
The company showcased the solutions at the Malaysian International Food and Beverage Trade Fair 2026, held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from July 15 to 17.
Tetra Pak said its local infrastructure and regional co-packing network allow manufacturers to test and refine products before committing to full-scale commercial production.
The company said this could reduce the capital expenditure and risks involved in developing and launching new products.
“Our involvement at MIFB underscores our commitment to helping F&B manufacturers prepare for the future by embracing innovation that strengthens operational performance and supports long-term business growth,” said John Jose, marketing director for Tetra Pak Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines and Indonesia.
“By integrating product development, processing, and packaging under a single framework, we are enabling local brands to mitigate risk, accelerating time-to-market, and scale efficiently to capture both domestic and export opportunities.”
The company also showcased digital manufacturing tools using data analytics, automation and Internet of Things technology to reduce operational downtime and optimise resource use.
Its exhibits included packaging in different sizes for on-the-go and household consumption, as well as its Tetra Recart carton packaging for shelf-stable food.
Tetra Pak said Tetra Recart could reduce carbon emissions across the supply chain by up to 85 per cent while maintaining food safety and shelf life.
The company also presented a sunflower-based protein beverage prototype aimed at manufacturers developing products in the plant-based nutrition segment.
It said the beverage contained 50 per cent protein and had a digestibility rate of 98 per cent, presenting it as an alternative to traditional plant proteins.
Tetra Pak said its processing and packaging solutions were also designed to reduce water, energy and product waste as manufacturers respond to changing consumer preferences and environmental requirements.
