KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 8 — Tune Talk has announced that it will no longer offer free AirAsia flight ticket redemptions and they are currently in the midst of streamlining its offering. According to the Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO), Tune Talk subscribers will not be able to redeem AirAsia flight tickets effective August 1.

According to its press release, Tune Talk said the decision to discontinue the flight ticket redemption will allow them to streamline their offering and allocate resources to deliver even better prepaid plans, top-quality network coverage and enhanced customer support to address their needs promptly and effectively.

Tune Talk CEO Ameen Amaendran said, “While we bid farewell to the free AirAsia flight ticket benefit, we aim to provide other newer and exciting loyalty benefits and discounts, relevant to the value-seeker segment such as the introduction of Molek25.”

He added that other existing Tune Talk benefits such as Personal Accident insurance coverage and redeemable Tune Talk Points within the app remain intact.

Tune Talk tells subscribers to stay tuned for exciting updates as they are preparing an array of enhanced and more relevant benefits.

Tune Talk introduced its Points system back in October 2010 which allowed subscribers to earn points which can be redeemed for free flights on AirAsia. The points are earned by performing a reload on your Tune Talk account and the points will never expire as tweeted by former CEO Jason Lo.
