KUALA LUMPUR, July 1 — Known for its extensive range of ballet products, ballet dancewear brand Ballet Life has ventured into fashion with a collaborative collection alongside Malaysian designer Syomirizwa Gupta.
This partnership aims to introduce Ballet Life to a broader audience while infusing the elegance and artistry of ballet into the world of fashion.
Reimagined through contemporary lens, the Ballet Life x Syomirizwa Gupta collaborative collection is a celebration of ballet's grace and poise.
When designing this collection, Syomirizwa focused on reflecting ballet's discipline and grace in every detail.
What does he like best about the world of ballet? "The appreciation of lines and structure with highest level of discipline presented as a story on stage effortlessly," he told Malay Mail.
The mini collection features versatile pieces that can be mixed and matched to suit various occasions, including corporate, casual outings and modesty wear.
One standout piece is the Alicia skirt, a calf-length pleated skirt adorned with beautiful ballerina prints personally designed by Syomirizwa himself.
It features a lining suitable for hijab wear, embracing inclusivity and cultural diversity.
Inspired by the world of dance, elements such as embroidered feathers on a blazer jacket, tulle pleats reminiscent of a ballet tutu skirt and delicate ballerina prints drawn by Syomirizwa are incorporated seamlessly.
A neutral pink colour palette runs throughout the collection, evoking the ethereal ambience of ballet. What sets this collection apart is its versatility.
For example, the Tamara top can be worn by both men and women and its design allows for individualistic styling. It can be paired with fitted pants for a more tailored look or with loose bottoms for a relaxed and casual ensemble.
The collection's cotton linen material ensures comfort and breathability, making it suitable for various climates.
This collection is available at Ballet Life in Mont Kiara Mall and Syomirizwa Gupta in Bangsar. It is also available online at http://www.ballet-life.com and http://www.syomirizwagupta.com.
