KUALA LUMPUR, June 1 — Malaysia’s leading coworking space provider WORQ has just launched a new 15,000 square feet space in Menara UOA Bangsar (MUB).

A key part of the Asset Enhancement Initiatives (AEI) of MUB, the space will serve as a growth hub for local startups and tech businesses.

WORQ plans to triple its market presence and footprint in Malaysia in the next two years, through more joint investments with landlords.

WORQ and MUB will achieve this through innovative and flexible solutions that will advance the traditional coworking concept and bring meaningful contributions to Malaysia’s digital landscape.

WORQ Co-founder and CEO Stephanie Ping said in a statement that the new outlet will attract new tenants that seek flexible office solutions and Menara UOA’s amenities.

“This collaboration solidifies Menara UOA Bangsar as the preferred office address in the bustling Bangsar area,” Ping said.

“WORQ’s presence at Menara UOA Bangsar represents a significant stride towards expanding our footprint in office buildings and advancing the adoption of flexible work arrangements.”

“This joint effort with MUB reflects our commitment to embrace and promote a more liberalised approach to work environments and community building as a whole.”

These joint investments aligns closely with the interests of both parties, allowing landlords to provide flex space solutions while fostering a vibrant community.

Landlords are able to optimise space utilisation and improve rental yields through WORQ’s proven model as the leading coworking space provider.

The two organisations previously collaborated at WORQ Subang in UOA Business Park, they achieved full occupancy within a month and shattered industry standards of up to 12 months.

Now known as the Tech Collective, the space functions as a hub for learning, collaboration, and building business opportunities and connections.

In an effort to innovate Malaysia’s technological ecosystem. WORQ and MUB plan to create spaces to spur technological advancements, collaboration, and growth.

From small companies to Multi-National Corporations (MNCs), WORQ spaces are suited for every stage of business development.

The spaces can also be used as a platform for the community to level up their skills through workshops, talks, and entrepreneurial forums hosted on a regular basis.

Providing value and benefit to the tech community is in line with the two organisations' support of the Malaysia Digital (MD) Initiative in building the country’s Smart Nation goal.

WORQ also hopes to bring numerous businesses into their coworking ecosystem with growth projections of RM1.3 billion in Malaysia.

WORQ is capitalising on the accelerated demand for flexible office solutions after the pandemic, driven by a structural shift in how companies consume real estate.

CBRE's Spring 2022 Asia Pacific Occupier Survey showed by 2024, 70 percent of companies will use coworking spaces and 17 percent of their real estate portfolios will be within coworking spaces.

Founded in 2017, WORQ aims to liberalise real estate by setting up Google-like offices to create vibrant hubs for businesses and workers to build their communities.
