KUALA LUMPUR, May 6 — The finale of Miss & Mister Celebrity International 2023 was recently held in Kuala Lumpur.

The competition picked Amarbayasgalan Onolbaatar as winner of Miss Celebrity International. The tall and lanky Onolbaatar, who’s a professional model, hails from Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.

Crowned as Mister Celebrity International was Marco Victor Van Shaik, a model from Taipei, Taiwan.

Onolbaatar also picked up the Best Costume subsidiary title while the ever-smiling Van Shaik, who is of Dutch and Taiwanese parentage, won the Most Confident subsidiary title.

Taking the Miss Celebrity International 2023 runner-up spot was Lam Chau Nguyen, a digital creator from Hanoi, Vietnam while the second runner-up position went to Malaysia’s Yap Wen Wei.

In the men’s competition, Dean Theerapat from Thailand secured the runner-up position while Hong Kong’s Chan Yung Lung was awarded second runner-up.

In addition, Malaysia’s Terry Tan was awarded the Best Costume title, thanks to his spectacular traditional Iban costume.

The competition promoted Malaysia’s culture and tourism industry to contestants from over 20 countries including South Korea, the Netherlands, India, Japan, Uzbekistan, Hong Kong, Mongolia, Nigeria and Kazakhstan.

During their stay here, the contestants were brought to tourist attractions and famous landmarks in Malaysia to give them a better understanding of the country.

“It is a prestigious opportunity to be able to host this pageant in my home country and positively showcase the beauty of Malaysia to global viewing audiences from the 26 countries participating,” said organiser International Celebrity Pageant Group director Lennard Tan.

The winners were selected by a international panel of judges including Malaysian top model Amber Chia, Mister Global Thailand 2019 Jeerawat Vetsakol, Miss Universe Cambodia 2018 Rern Sinat, Miss Grand Myanmar 2022 Kansuda Chanakeeree Mimi and Miss Universe Bangladesh 2019 Shirin Akter Shela.

Key sponsors which supported the event included Kevin Murphy, Malaysia Airlines, Tourism Malaysia and The Glam Academy.
