KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 1 — After getting to know Her Story, it’s only right we treat ourselves to His Story, a collection of eight insightful monologues.

Colourful, surreal, humorous and deeply introspective, it’s based on real-life experiences of ordinary Malaysians from different walks of life.

The monologues, in English and Bahasa Malaysia with English surtitles, are Andrew Loh’s Don’t Jump! on self-discovery, Karam Tabba’s I Got Busy and Bing Hou’s Life Changes, which is about putting others before themselves as well as Lawrence Chin’s Tattoos on the Left.

There’s also Faizal Sohaimi’s Little Grains of Sand, R Mohamad’s Mother’s Boy, Simon Ong’s The Good Son and Zee’s Hey Daddy which talk about love in all its different forms.

His Story will be brought to life by Ash Sahimun, Sidhart Joe Dev, Karam Tabba, Lok Shi Hoong, Xavier Chen Wen Xuen, Adrian Choong, Nandagopall, and Daniel Hussin.

Born out of the need for a creative outlet during the pandemic amid then on-going lockdowns, His Story is part of an online playwriting writing project spearheaded by playwright, producer and director Fa Abdul began in early 2021.

Twenty new writers, aged 13 to 55, were taken under her wing with 12 female writers being workshopped from July to October 2021 and 8 male writers from Jan to April 2022.
