BRUSSELS, April 20 — Just like old times — children went outside to play — with other children.

It happened one sunny day in Brussels, when the children's television networks stopped broadcasting and instead ran a message on TV telling children to go outside and play.

Minister of the Brussels Region for Mobility and Public Works Pascal Smet, says: “Play in the parks. Play in public space. Play with your friends, wherever, in the garden. And just play, and move. Because it's very important for young kids to move and play together and not be always behind television.

“And so that's what's happening here too: No television this Wednesday afternoon, just playing outside with other kids and having a great time.”

The kids bounced around in castles, challenged each other to board games and held potato sack races.
