NEW YORK, Dec 26 — Illustrator Jean Jullien has teamed up with design manufacturer Case Studyo on a collection of tableware called “Face Plates.”

Following the release of his first monograph, “Modern Life,” this most British of French illustrators is bringing his talents to the table in a collaboration with Belgian design brand Case Studyo. The result of this pairing is an amusing collection of plates, called “Face Plates,” capturing the spirit of Jean Jullien, who works on regular collaborations with the likes of The New Yorker, Tate Modern, The Guardian, The New York Times and France’s Nouvel Observateur.

As its name suggests, the collection features six different plates, to which Jean Jullien has added faces. An orange plate bears an elongated grumpy face, a yellow “Face Plate” seems sleepy and squashed, while the light blue model looks puzzled. The three other plates — in white, blue and pink — all bear more jovial expressions.
