BIRMINGHAM, Dec 19 — The United Kingdom's Prince William met Michael Phelps yesterday in Birmingham in preparation for the BBC's sports personality of the year awards.
Phelps, who retired from competitive swimming after the Rio Olympic Games in August, is the most decorated Olympian with 28 medals to his name, 23 of them gold.
The USA swimmer was in Birmingham to be presented with a lifetime achievement award at the awards ceremony. — Reuters
