SINGAPORE, Aug 8 — Who says you can’t don fall/winter garb in Singapore?

Leading global Japanese retail brand Uniqlo is launching a new Fall/Winter 2016 collection under its LifeWear philosophy, and the garments are so comfy and stylish, they can be worn everywhere — even in this hot Little Red Dot.

Building upon the LifeWear philosophy that clothing of high, functional quality can be enjoyed by everyone, every day, the new collection sees the return of collaborations with renowned fashion personalities such as French model-fashion designer Ines de la Fressange, and former fashion model and former editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris Carine Roitfeld.

The collaboration with Roitfeld again emphasises the elegant and feminine styles of women, and includes pieces such as military blousons and cotton pencil skirts that have leopard and botanical motifs, while the collaboration with de La Fressange comprises knits with bright blue and red accents and pieces with hues of grey gradations.

You can also get your hands on apparel from the hotly-anticipated range Uniqlo U, a new line led by Christophe Lemaire, the artistic director at Uniqlo’s research and development centre in Paris.

It will feature a mix of versatile basics such as sweaters, coats, hoodies, pants, and knits, in bold colours, but with Lemaire’s minimalist style.

Babies get to benefit as well. Uniqlo is introducing its original creation, HEATTECH, in its baby wear, and has included a little fold at the end of the zips for winter jackets, to prevent babies’ necks from getting nicked.

The Uniqlo U line will launch worldwide between late September and early October.

The Ines de La Fressange collection will be released on Sept 2, while Carine Roitfeld’s will be available in a few months’ time. — TODAY
