SINGAPORE, May 18 — Zouk Singapore confirmed yesterday that it won’t be able to open at its new location in Clarke Quay in June as originally planned.

A spokesman was quoted as saying by Channel NewsAsia that the club is “looking to move (at) the end of the year as of now” from Jiak Kim Street where it has operated for the past 24 years.

The Zouk representative, however, declined to disclose the reason behind the delay.

Channel NewsAsia cited unnamed sources as saying that incomplete renovation works at the new location are to blame.

Zouk had been given permission to extend its contract by December 31, 2017, if it was able to secure a new location by June 30 last year.

The superclub subsequently announced that it had signed a new lease for a 30,000 sq ft space at Block C in Clarke Quay.
