BEIJING, Dec 13 — China's Red Star Design Award has announced the winners for its 2014 edition.
A total of 266 designs have been awarded the accolade this year, for the categories of “Best of the gold prize,” “Gold prize,” “Silver prize,” “Red star award,” “Best team design,” “Best new designer,” “Original silver award,” “Original excellent award,” “Original best designer award” and “Future star award.”
The overall “Best of the gold prize” winner this year went to the “iSagy BIM Energy Management Platform,” a product designed for “intelligent building.” The software lets managers access real-time building and energy consumption visibly and clearly, encouraging energy saving.
Winners in the “Gold prize” category include the innovative Dyson Cool fans range, including the Air Multiplier bladeless fan which features a sideways breeze. The modular “Baraka-bed” by Peng Chen which can be adjusted to meet different furniture solutions, and the Turkey Ankara Stainless Metro Project, the first European metro to adopt a Chinese design, were also winners in this category.
