OREGON, Dec 10 — As fever builds for the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil, Nike has just unveiled its Nike Premier Edition football boot (or soccer cleat) in designs for three countries that have achieved glory on football's greatest stage — Brazil, France, and England.

Nike launched the Nike Premier earlier this year, offering a modern performance take on a classic football design. While the launch colour was simply black and white, the newest limited-edition run features a fresh trio of colours representing each country. For the Brazilian team, the boot comes in Tour Yellow and White, France is Treasure Blue and White, while England comes in Crimson and White.

Each boot features one colour on the upper, with a white-based sole plate, or bottom of the shoe, while the sock liner features a graphic of the year (or years) each country was crowned champion. The sole plate also relies on a technology found in the Nike Hypervenom “barefoot” football boot, which helps place the foot closer to the ball and ground for a better foot-to-ball feel and touch, Nike says.

The Nike Premier Brazil, England, and France editions are available for €150 (RM661) at nike.com

Also gearing up for the World Cup, Adidas recently unveiled a new collection of Samba-inspired football boots to celebrate the host nation. The collection features a new boot from each of the brand's four boot ranges — Adizero f50, Predactor, Nitrocharge, and 11pro, in an array of bright Carnival-ready colorways. — AFP-Relaxnews
