PETALING JAYA, Feb 19 — If you’re anything like me, there are few things you enjoy more than burgers, fries and some fizzy drinks (maybe a beer too).

If you’re really like me, you’ll definitely enjoy all of that with an eclectic selection of music, going from Bad Bunny to Bill Withers.

At Sneaky Burgers, you ascend a stairway next to an electrical appliance store in Damansara Jaya and find yourself in a little enclave that Peppa Pig would be proud of.

The walls are adorned with murals with pigs drinking and playing cards, and a series of posters by the stairs featuring, among many others, Jimi Hendrix and Anthony Bourdain.

It’s giving after-work lepak vibes, where you can chow down on some delicious burgers in a no-frills setting.

The decor at Sneaky Burgers is bold and lively, just like their burgers.

The name of the game here is pork burgers, and so far, they don’t miss. The Sneaky "Bac-Stab” Burger (RM21 for á la carte) tells no lies; their signature house-made pork patty is loaded up with not one, not two, but three slices of crispy, streaky bacon, along with cheese, lettuce, carrots, cabbage, caramelised onions, pickled gherkins and "Porky’s special sauce.”

It comes in a charcoal bun and is a gleefully messy flavour bomb with tangy, savoury and slightly sweet components.

For RM29, you can get it with fries and a drink, and I must say the fries really do justice to the burger. Golden and crispy on the outside, fluffy and airy on the inside, and best of all, perfectly seasoned!

There is little that lets me down quite like under-seasoned fries that just taste like hot starch, but this is thankfully quite the opposite.

For the really ambitious (read: those unafraid of jaw-lock) among us, there is the Sneaky "Pig-Mac” Burger (RM22.90 for á la carte). As its name suggests, it is reminiscent of a Big Mac, with double the porky goodness.

The Pulled Pork Special is a well-executed classic (left). Their take on a Big Mac, the 'Pig-Mac' is a mountain of a mouthful (right).

However, instead of a bun in the middle, this has a fried egg, along with the rest of the usual suspects. There’s nothing sneaky about this mammoth mouthful, but the flavours are really well-balanced, helping to stave off the threat of it being overwhelming and difficult to put away.

On Wednesdays and Thursdays, there is a Pulled Pork special that is aptly soft and pull-apart tender. I find the inclusion of cranberries to be a really smart choice, as it complements the subtle flavour of the pork.

I find pork burgers often fall short of regular beef burgers because of the difference in taste and texture of the patties, but here they really know how to make it work. Next time, I intend to try the "Sneagets" (RM12.50 for six pieces of their version of pork nuggets), of which a very nice staff member recommended the spicy version.

Fried chicken burgers, vegetarian options, pasta and salads are also offered. For all your after-work unwinding needs, there are beers and ciders offered, but if you really want the evening to get all kinds of blurry you can get soju or a "So-neaky” tower (soju and beer).

I suspect I will be making more repeat visits soon, especially since parking here is no fuss at all after working hours.
