Another 5.2-magnitude quake rattles Flores after deadly Aug 15 tremor

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 22 — A moderate earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale struck the Flores region of Indonesia at 9.31 am today.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), in a statement, said the earthquake was detected at coordinates 8.2 degrees South and 120.6 degrees East, about 210 kilometres east of Bima, Indonesia.

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 45 kilometres and posed no tsunami threat to Malaysia, according to MetMalaysia. — Bernama
