MANILA, Aug 2 — Five people, including an 11-month-old infant, were killed in a boarding house fire in Caloocan City, Metro Manila, on Sunday, reported Xinhua, quoting local media reports.

The fire protection bureau said the victims were trapped inside the rented house as the fire spread, preventing them from escaping.

The blaze also affected 15 people from six families living in the apartment.

Authorities said the cause of the fire remains under investigation, while the extent of the damage is still being assessed. — Bernama-Xinhua
