LONDON, May 21 — British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said yesterday that the findings of a report into the infected blood scandal was a day of shame for the British state involving ministers, government officials and people working in the health service.

The scandal led to 3,000 deaths and thousands more contracting hepatitis or HIV, a public inquiry found yesterday.

"This is a day of shame for the British state,” Sunak told parliament. "The result of this inquiry should shake our nation to its core.” — Reuters
