MINSK, Feb 16 — Belarus’ President Alexander Lukashenko said today that Moscow had never asked Belarus to go to war in Ukraine, the state-run Belta news agency reported.

Russia used its ally Belarus as a staging post for its invasion of Ukraine last February, sending tens of thousands of troops and pieces of military hardware into Ukraine from Belarus for its failed offensive on Kyiv. — Reuters
