5.2 magnitude quake jolts Myanmar's Bago region

YANGON, Feb 6 — An earthquake of 5.2 magnitude jolted Myanmar's Bago region yesterday, said the Meteorology and Hydrology Department.

The earthquake struck at 23:25:35 hours local time with a depth of 10km, Xinhua News Agency reported.

The epicentre was 32km southwest of Phyu city in Bago region and 156km north of Yangon.

Report on casualties is not yet immediately available.

On January 12, a stronger earthquake of 6.0 magnitude jolted the same Phyu area, followed by several aftershocks. — Bernama
