SINGAPORE, June 27 — A 27-year-old man who fell into the Singapore River along Clarke Quay remains missing despite a day-long search operation.
A police spokesman said that they were alerted to the incident on Sunday at 2.55pm at 3D River Valley Road.
The man reportedly fell into the river near a boat at the Read Bridge, a Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) spokesman said.
A fire engine, an ambulance, and three support vehicles were sent to the scene after the SCDF was alerted at 4.25pm.
SCDF officers then conducted a surface search using a boat from a private operator.
Two divers from SCDF’s Disaster Assistance and Rescue Team (DART) were also sent to search for the man.
As of 3.30pm yesterday, search operations are still ongoing. — TODAY
