Fire breaks out at Singapore's Sungei Kadut warehouse

SINGAPORE, Nov 2 — A three-storey warehouse at Sungei Kadut Loop was gutted by a huge fire early this morning.

The Singapore Civil Defence Force said in a post on Facebook at 6.04am that it was alerted to a fire in the area. 

"Firefighters are already at scene fighting the fire with water jets,” it added.

A total of 4 fire engines, 2 Red Rhinos, 1 ambulance, 7 support vehicles and 50 firefighters have been deployed. 

As at 7.20am, firefighters "have confined the fire to the building which measures 100m by 50m”, the SCDF said.

Firefighters also rescued seven people trapped in the office block next to the warehouse. 

Three were rescued from the rooftop and four others, from the third-floor balcony.

TODAY understands that the warehouse belongs to Winter International Group, a furniture manufacturer. — TODAY
