Singapore man charged with Bedok North hawker centre slashing

SINGAPORE, July 23 — A 27-year-old man was charged today for an armed attack on Muhd Rizuan Zakariah at a hawker centre along Bedok North Street 3 on Tuesday.

Court documents showed that at 5am that day, Sari Gujang had used a knife to slash Muhd Rizuan’s left palm, leaving him with a 10-centimetre slash wound.

Police said they received a call for assistance at about 5.20am on Tuesday. The victim was conveyed conscious to the Changi General Hospital following the incident.

Sari told the Court he has not decided if he would plead guilty.

He was offered bail of S$20,000 and will be back in court on July 30.

For voluntarily causing grievous hurt using a dangerous weapon, Sari could be jailed for life, fined and caned.
