SINGAPORE — Former Minister Mentor Lee Kuan Yew is in a stable condition and doctors are monitoring him closely, said Minister for Communications and Information Dr Yaacob Ibrahim last night.
“I understand that many people are concerned and anxious about Mr Lee Kuan Yew’s condition. I have been informed that he is stable and that the doctors are monitoring him closely,” said Yaacob, giving an update in a Facebook post.
“In the meantime, let us continue to give him our well wishes and keep him in our prayers,” he added, ending his post with #GetWellSoonLKY.
Lee, 91, has been hospitalised in Singapore General Hospital since Feb 5, after coming down with severe pneumonia.
In an update on Thursday, the Prime Minister’s Office said Lee remained in the Intensive Care Unit and was sedated and on mechanical ventilation.
The PMO also said doctors had restarted him on antibiotics. — TODAY
