SAO PAULO, June 20 ― The Brazilian navy is still searching for a World Cup fan who fell from a cruise ship carrying 3,500 fans of the Mexican team from the city where their team played Brazil.
A passenger reportedly threw himself from the 15th-floor deck of the MSC Divina cruise ship as it sailed from Fortaleza in Brazil on Wednesday. The 30-year-old Mexican man, identified as Jorge Lopez Amores, was apparently under the influence of alcohol when he made the 50-metre plunge from the cruise ship, according to witnesses.
Shortly before he went missing, Amores posted a video of himself jumping into a jacuzzi on the ship’s deck with the headline that translates to “man on the water”. It is not known whether he was traveling with family or friends. ― Reuters
