There is only one message for the six state general elections in August — Lim Kit Siang

JUNE 20 ― There is only one message for the six state general elections in August ― whether Malaysia is going to be world champions again and be the role model for the world in inter-ethnic, inter-religious, inter-cultural and inter-civilisation dialogue, understanding, tolerance and harmony or slither down the slope to a divided, failed and rogue state

Muhyiddin Yassin, Hadi Awang and Dominic Lau are not important ― but their statements showed that Perikatan Nasional (PN) has two messages to the voters in the six state general elections in August ― one to the Malays and Muslims and another to the non-Malays and non-Muslims.

They highlight the importance of having one common message to all Malaysian voters, Malays and non-Malays, Muslims and non-Muslims, for the six state general elections in August ― whether Malaysia is going to be world champions again and be the role model for the world in inter-ethnic, inter-religious, inter-cultural and inter-civilisation dialogue, understanding, tolerance and harmony or slither down the slope to a divided, failed and rogue state.

Malaysia is at the confluence of four great civilisations ― Malay/Islamic, Chinese, Indian and Western.

Malaysia must reset and return the original nation-building principles written into the Malaysian Constitution and the Rukun Negara by nation’s founding fathers (which included the first three prime ministers who were also Umno presidents) stipulating the there is only one class of Malaysian citizens. ― Picture by Yusof Mat Isa

Can the great religions and philosophies which are the products of these civilisations have dialogue and result in an understanding, tolerance and harmony of civilisations and prevent a clash of civilisations as predicted by an American political scientist?

PN believes that there are two classes of citizens, the Malay and Muslim ones and the non-Malay and non-Muslim ones.

Malaysia cannot be a role model of the world of inter-ethnic, inter-religious, inter-cultural and inter-civilisation dialogue, understanding, tolerance and harmony if we have two classes of citizens.

Malaysia must reset and return the original nation-building principles written into the Malaysian Constitution and the Rukun Negara by nation’s founding fathers (which included the first three prime ministers who were also Umno presidents) stipulating the there is only one class of Malaysian citizens.

I believe that genuine Malaysians, Malays, Chinese, Indians, Kadazans, Dayak, whether Muslims, Buddhists, Hindus, Christians, Sikkhist, or Toaists, want Malaysia to be world champions again and be the role model of the world in inter-ethnic, inter-religious, inter-cultural and inter-civilisation dialogue, understanding, tolerance and harmony.

Genuine Malaysians, whether Malay or non-Malay, Muslim nor non-Muslims, do not want to see Malaysia slither down the slope of a divided, failed and rogue state.

This is meaning of the six state general elections in August.
