DECEMBER 31 — Dear God
Greetings from a weary and exhausted Malaysia.
It has been a very tough year for all of us; to the extent that some have suggested that You do not care or are nonexistent. The man-assisted natural disasters, some still in evolution, have drained us emotionally. Even more the posturing of small minded individuals/groups with the lack of meaningful, strong and compassionate leadership have left many of us bruised in our spirit and soul.
We are using generic terms to address You as we do not want to unnecessarily offend the small minded and bigoted individuals who believe they are representing or protecting You. By behaving like ‘gods’, these individuals have been damaging our nation.
We know it is not Your style to zap someone just because they are racist or corrupt to the core, but we are really tired of these chaps who have been shouting off (foaming) at the mouth. If possible, please give us a break from them in the year ahead.
For the coming year we ask that You:
1. Deliver us from evil men and women who are attempting to lead our country astray, politically, economically and spiritually.
2. Rescue us from leaders and others who use their position to corruptly fill their pockets and that of their families and friends.
3. Give courage and enable the average, common sense and good hearted Malaysian to speak up so that we as a people can move forward.
4. Grant us hope that we as a people can become united and view our differences as strengths to be celebrated.
We want to acknowledge that You still love all Malaysians and that You care for all of us.
We want to learn from You to love each other anew.
To see all Malaysians as family.
To become whole.
Your children of Malaysia,
Amar-Singh HSS & Lim Swee-Im
