Our PM is leading the charge for inclusiveness — Liow Tiong Lai

NOVEMBER 23 — MCA welcomes Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak’s comments that reinforces the fact that Malaysia’s social contract is premised on inclusiveness.

Clearly Najib is walking the talk by fortifying the fact that all Malaysians have a role in nation building and are part and parcel of our collective MCA is appreciative of Najib’s strong statement, emphasising that vernacular education is part of Barisan Nasional’s manifesto as well as the Government’s National Education Blueprint.

Furthermore any statements in conflict of this fact, to quote YAB Prime Minister, are considered as “memungkiri janji” (breaking promises). This has been reinforced even recently by virtue of the fact that the allocation for Chinese schools in Budget 2015 is indeed commendable.

As our citizens become more conscious of their democratic rights, BN must become all the more relevant and appeal to the wider population in the face of small pockets of undesirable elements who are trying to drive a wedge between us and upset the level of harmonious interaction that takes place between the races.

All Malaysians, especially young adults must resist such undesirable behaviour for the sake of future generations.

Malaysia is a nation rich in cultural diversity and it is important that we embrace our differences. I also believe that in the journey to find the differences that exist between us, we will find more similarities that can strengthen the relationship between the many races that call Malaysia home.
