MAY 26 — We understand how critical Halal is to all of us here in Malaysia. We acknowledge the distress this issue is causing and we want to reassure you that nothing is more important to us than your trust in our product quality.
That’s why we are taking the following actions immediately:
1) We are fully collaborating with JAKIM:
Earlier today, we have met with JAKIM to discuss this matter and we will continue to collaborate with them and all relevant authorities.
Meanwhile, JAKIM has sent both product samples, as well as other products from the same processing line within the same plant, to Malaysia’s Department of Chemistry for further testing. The Laboratory Chemistry Department of Malaysia is the official laboratory used by JAKIM for halal certification, as prescribed in the Manual Procedure of Halal Certification Malaysia. JAKIM has urged the public not to speculate on the nature of the issue but allow the right authoritative body to conduct further investigations.

2) We are proactively recalling two Cadbury Dairy Milk batches:

Hazelnut 175g (batch number 200813M01H I2 that expires on Nov 13, 2014) -
Cadbury Dairy Milk Roast Almond.
Roast Almond 175g (batch number 221013N01R I1 that expires on Jan 15, 2015)
No other Cadbury products are affected by this test.
