MAY 15 — Lately, there has been an indication that DAP is going to field Lim Kit Siang’s political secretary Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud as their candidate for Teluk Intan. Clearly, this is a good move by DAP to get the support of the Malay community and the young generation voters. With her refreshing looks, I think she will get the votes from both Malay and non-Malay voters, especially those from the younger generation.
In contrast, Barisan Nasional is likely to field Gerakan’s President Mah Siew Keong. He had lost in last 2 election in Teluk Intan since 2008. In 2013, he lost by a big margin of 7,300 voters.
We can see that the DAP has an edge of their choice of candidate. They chose a fresh and young good-looking women as their candidate. She’s below 30 and holds a legal degree while BN chose to field a recycled candidate who is old with white hair and doesn’t look friendly. We’ve got to be realistic. Fielding an old candidate won’t get you votes from the old people.
Let’s be frank here. BN is definitely a better party than Pakatan. Pakatan is already in a mess over various issues. BN has a proven track record especially for development and social welfare.
But it’s sad to say that their choice of candidate is likely to be major factor that will bury them in Teluk Intan.
I’m a Barisan Nasional supporter. And I think it’s time Barisan Nasional make the right decision. We cannot just allow Gerakan to field whoever candidate they want simply because their President wants another chance to contest.
When you contest, you must be able to win. If you cannot, then please let others in BN who can win be the candidate.
The Gerakan President has already been rejected twice with a big margin by Teluk Intan voters. Time to move aside.
Barisan Nasional must make the right choice!!!
