What You Think
Look into special task force for flight attendants — NUFAM
Malay Mail

MARCH 19 — NUFAM (National Union of Flight Attendants Malaysia)  is urging the authorities from various government agencies to step up and form a task force with the National Union to discuss matters comprising of the Flight 370 events.

It appears that now with the Flight 370 incident it has raised many questions and the Government agencies must be able to open up the doors and hold discussions with NUFAM and its committee immediately.

This committee will comprise various aviation fields and experts to mitigate this event and to propose safety measures to avoid future incidents from happening again.

The National Union represent the lives of the 8,00 Cabin Crew workers in Malaysia and we owe a lot to the families and children of these workers.

NUFAM have not been briefed on any progress or developments so far by the airline since the incident took place.

Does the airline not see how important it is now to work together with the National Union as these crew members are all involved and they are all feeling depressed with the current situation?

We urge the authorities to take things more seriously in looking into the union’s request which projects the high risk job which our Crew members are doing. We have previously requested a body to be formed but no one has come back to us or looked into it seriously, perhaps thinking  it is not important.

NUFAM is also unhappy with the  “inhouse politics” involvement in the recognition of NUFAM and also blaming others then themselves which is also hampering the efforts of NUFAM to perform efficiently.

They must recognise the cabin crew are going through a tremendous and most difficult time of their lives and to overcome this event will not be as simple as anyone would think.

Losing family members and your loved ones while on duty and not knowing where they are now is something too heavy to bear.

All some people could do now is to watch the news everyday and offer their sympathy but what they do not know is the sufferings of each of these family members have to go through day to day.

Financial aids for these families are also slow since the crew on MH370 have families, husbands /wives and children who they have been supporting before the event took place. This will not be the same now for these families.

These cabin crew members are also feeling depressed as no one seem to be focusing on them and provide any answers.

The cabin crew now wants some assurance of their own safety and welfare while working for the airlines.

The MH370 incident is an eye opener now to raise more questions of how good and safe is flying would be today.
