JAN 3 — Does Malaysia have a prime minister? To my knowledge, the incumbent prime minister of Malaysia is a man named Mohd Najib bin Razak.
This is however not the case in Malaysia. This is already not the first time our Prime Minister Najib Razak is keeping mum. He did not even answer or respond to any of the serious allegations levelled against his Cabinet minister or himself, let alone other issues.
This is very disappointing for a prime minister who spoke so loudly and proudly about the concept of moderation on the international stage but chose to remain silent when the rights of the minorities are being threatened at home. Where has our prime minister who preaches about moderation gone?
Our Prime Minister is not dumb. Even if he is dumb, I believe that he can still issue statements expressing his stand on these issues. Why is Prime Minister Najib Razak choosing to remain silent?
I, as a Malaysian, would like to remind the prime minister that he does not have the right to remain silent. If the job of a prime minister is so easy in which no matter what happens, he only needs to keep quiet, then everyone can be the prime minister.
If Najib Razak is unable to perform his duties and responsibilities as prime minister, I urge him to resign immediately. If he is only interested in fighting for the rights of certain groups and for his party, Umno, then I think it is enough for him to be the president of Umno and not the prime minister of Malaysia.
This is because a prime minister should care for and defend the rights of all citizens and give equal treatment to all, regardless of status, race or religion.
Najib Razak, please speak up!
