SINGAPORE, May 25 — Be wary of emails, contests or phone calls that claim to offer free air tickets from Singapore Airlines, the national carrier warned on its Facebook page today.

"It has come to our attention that there are contests, emails and calls that claim to be from Singapore Airlines, which inform recipients of free air tickets, before proceeding to request for their personal data,” the airline posted.

It also advised customers to "exercise discretion when revealing personal data to unverified sources”. "These websites, emails and calls should be verified if in doubt,” it added, before asking the public to send details through its social media channels or the feedback link.

The airline also advised the public to be cautious of social media posts and phishing websites that appear similar to its official website.

"Please do not enter your KrisFlyer login details or other personal information on any website other than www.singaporeair.com,” the airline said on its website, adding: "If you have previously accessed a website other than the official Singapore Airlines website and entered your KrisFlyer login details, please change your KrisFlyer PIN immediately.”

It also asked the public to report a fake Singapore Airlines website through its feedback channel. — TODAY
